I am barely sick, but I was unlucky this week. My body was felt so weak and I was in bed all day yesterday. Luckily it was my restday so I didn’t miss a workout. The picture is from todays leg workout where I am taking a break from the cable pulltroughs.

Squats.
Alcohol decision.
I haven’t been drinking since New Years Eve. This surprises people when I tell them, and they ask me why. I am training to be in the best possible shape for the bikini fitness competition in September and I don’t drink because I want to do my best to achieve my dream.
It always takes time for people to accept changes, especially when I used to drink. After telling my friends that I am following my dream to become a fitness athlete, they were relatively fast at accepting my decision and have been cool with it from the beginning. Now my friends know why and don’t ask me anymore. Now it’s just ‘normal’. They are very understanding and don’t care if I drink cola or vodka, as long as I dance and sing along with them.
The past five months I haven’t had the same desire to go out in the weekends as I had last year when I was still drinking. I don’t know if it’s because I am not drinking now, if I just don’t see the purpose of going out every weekend anymore, or if I am just really focused on this fitness journey. Mostly, I just go to the pre-parties and then straight home, when people are going into town. I am glad I don’t feel like drinking and going out all the time because then it would suck not to be able to. I am lucky the people around me accept my choices and support me.
Diet talk.
When I was in Århus last thursday, I talked with my coach about diet start. I always look forward to meeting him, because he is positive and very skilled in nutrition and strength training. I am definitely in good hands.
The last two months I went from a body fat percentage of 16,6 to 15,5, and gained one kg lean body mass. I am happy to see results and that everything I am doing is working and making my body stronger. I will start on the diet soon to get me in shape for the competition in September. Five months to go! I am starting out slowly in order not to loose any muscles.
I think, calling it a ‘diet’ sounds so extreme. More than it actually is. In the beginning, I only need to loose 0,5-1 kg a month so I will still be eating plenty of food everyday. Right now, I am full all the time because of all the food I am eating, so eating a little less will still keep me full and be no problem for me. Later in the process, maybe, it will become more difficult, but I have never tried this before, and I have no clue about my reaction. I will find out in the future, but right now everything is going really well.
PurePharma.
I started to take these supplements back in December because my coach advised me to. Before that I didn’t take any, only multivitamin sometimes when I remembered to. And still sometimes I forget to take these supplements.
Omega O3 I take with my breakfast, lunch and dinner. O3 is fishoil and is good for many things. Vitamin D3 I take in the morning, and M3 I take half an hour before I am going to bed because they should make me sleep better. Anyway I just read on PurePharmas website that M3 fights fatigue, which is it opposite, and now I don’t know anymore ha. Other than that I take a multivitamin in the morning and in the evening.
Århus tomorrow.
I AM SO EXITED for tomorrow. I am going to Århus tomorrow to meet up with my coach and talk with him about the following months as I am starting on a more strict diet plan soon. We are also going to take some measurements etc. to be able to see the before/after results.
Afterwards I am meeting up with a friend, who I haven’t seen for ages. I miss her so much, she always makes me laugh. She also likes working out and we are going to cook dinner and work out together. Bring you gym clothes, she wrote.
Mexican lunch.
MEXICAN TORTILLAS with meat, salad, tomatoes, avocado, and cucumber. Aaaand hot salsa of course. This is my favourite food! The pills are Omega 3 supplements. All this together with a banana and a proten shake is a perfect post workout/pre work lunch. Now I will be completely full until dinner time.
White summer kicks.
This is my top five white sneakers made of lighter materials and with more ventilation perfect for the summer time. The Nike Roshe Run Breeze is an updated version of the model made of a new Mesh that gives more ventilation. I found the sneakers on (and borrowed the pictures from) the webshops: Rezetstore.dk, Stoy-munkholm.com and Andsneaks.com. Nakedcph.com also have some cool models.
Madeira, Portugal.
In the Easter Holiday, I went to Madeira. An Island in the Atlantic Ocean belonging to Portugal, but actually closer to Africa. The weather was above 20 degrees and the sun made the city and island look gorgeous from the windows of the plane. It was windy though and with a short runway, we almost couldn’t land.
Madeira has no white sand beaches but there are many huge hotels with swimming pools right down to the sea. This was not where I lived, but anyway I didn’t spend much time at the hotel. Funchal, the main city on the Island is very cozy and relaxed with many small streets, mostly very steep. Everywhere you want to go is either up or down.
On the way to the city centre.
Madeira is a destination for adventure and exploring. Many people trek in the mountains or walk along the Levadas. The Levadas are build water channels that transport water from the mountains to the city, Funchal. I did one of those walks on one of the really sunny days, and I had a nice clear view of the sea and city.
Resting and enjoying the view.

I also went to a viewpoint where I could see down to a valley called the Nuns Valley, which was a small town enclosed by mountains. We were up very high and could see the skies move slowly into the valley. I also made the to the most Eastern point of the Island.

Up in the skies. The weather changed really fast in this Valley.
The most Eastern point of Madeira.
Another amazing experience was driving up to one of the highest points on Madeira. It was a cloudy day but as soon as we came above the skies the sun was shining and the skies looked like pillows.
This great feeling.
It was possible to walk the last km to the peak.
The local drink on Madeira is called Poncha. Poncha is a drink made of alcohol made from sugar cane juice, honey, sugar, and with different fruit juices according to the version of Poncha, but traditionally lemon juice is used. It’s very stong.

If you have more than three of these you can speak fluent Portuguese, our guide told us.
Madeira is known for their Espada Fish which is traditionally served with bananas. The Espada fish only lives in the sea around Madeira and Japan.

Under Armour.
I ordered these Under Armour tights from Secondskin.dk yesterday, so hopefully I will get a package tomorrow! My gym clothes, especially my tights, get worn out fast due to all the washing, and it’s time to get new pair now. The good strategy is: more clothes to choose from, less often you need to do laundry.
I already got a pair of tights and a top form Under Armour and the quality feel good on my skin.
